Brownfield Redevelopment and Revitalization of Urban Waterways

The cleanup and revitalization of brownfield properties along city waterfronts are significant steps in re-opening those waterfronts and adjacent urban waters to public access, beneficial environmental uses, and economic growth.  To revitalize urban waterfronts and urban waters, a diverse array of public and private stakeholders must collaborate and forge shared visions for the restoration, sustainable revitalization, beneficial use, and future protection of these areas.  This town hall meeting focuses on the challenges encountered, approaches employed, and lessons learned during the planning and execution of two complex urban waterway restoration and redevelopment programs – the Philadelphia Navy Yard and the Vision for the Central Delaware.
